May 7th – 8th 2021
Join us for the exciting 9th year for the Annual Boerne Art Waddle May 7-8th as we showcase the creative flavor of Boerne’s artistic community and the historical downtown Hauptstrasse. It’s a relaxed artsy weekend with all the attributes of a major fine art event.
After the 2019 Art Waddle was completed, David Querbach, with Events Off Main, has assumed management of the event. He relates, “The future vision for the Art Waddle is to preserve its “neighborhood” feel in the flats and at the same time grow the event throughout the historical downtown area. By sharing our artistic community through events like this, it allows us to enhance the cultural experience for residents and visitors in Boerne.”
We have renamed the former Art Waddle donation as the Mike and Mary Morton Award presented to The Cibolo Center for Conservation Summer Art Camp Scholarships in honor of the Morton’s who have done so much for the event from the start. The late Mr. Morton’s passion and support for the Cibolo Center and their love of the arts community will be remembered. Proceeds or the event are shared with nonprofits such as the Cibolo Center for Conservation and the Hill Country Council for the Arts. Fun interactive activities for kids will be hosted by the Cibolo Center and Makers Place. Adults can also join in by reservation for the “paint and sip” also at Makers Place.
The event had its beginnings in the chic rebirth of the charming and artsy “Flats” neighborhood. Residents hosted various artists on their lawns as part of the event’s self-guided art show. In addition to the flats, this year we have expanded the Waddle to over 75 artists in various locations such as Main Plaza, Tusculum and Cibolo Creek Breweries, Olde Town, Makers Place, Gallery 195, Carriage House and Texas Treasures Galleries.
We have partnered with merchants who are offering wrist banded Waddlers shopping specials along with The Kendall’s historical charm as our host hotel offering “Waddler” rates for out of town guests. Sponsor donation opportunities are available at “Duckling”, “Friends of the Waddlers” and “Super Ducks” all of which are tax deductible.
Art Waddle wrist bands for special discounts, hats and t-shirts can be purchased at the Art Waddle information booths located along the self-guided event. A locator map with artist’s listings, participating merchants and sponsors will be available at all locations in Boerne,
ArtWaddleBoerne.com and on Facebook.
